Some people, the press, and organisations can't see beyond the old-style ‘pageant’ or don’t want to look at anything different. It has taken a while to prove ourselves and for our contestants' fundraising to be taken seriously, but we now have a proven record and testimonials from beneficiaries to support our aim.FOEW International do not hold swimwear rounds; all girls are asked to wear age-appropriate outfits and make-up. Each girl is interviewed, and their charitable activities are taken into account. The girls themselves hope to spread this new 'Face' of charity pageantry worldwide and prove that there is more to girls than just occasionally wanting to wear pretty dresses and tiaras. Of course, they are far more than just being beautiful; they want to show they understand the difficulties some people have to overcome and want to help. Several of our winners and finalists have gone on to become doctors, medical students, or work within the medical profession. We are delighted that these girls attribute their participation in our pageant to being instrumental in planting the seed that started their journey, as well as to the people they met while with FOEW. Hopefully, this type of dedication dispels two myths at once.We have therefore brought two concepts together: “The Pageant & Fundraising.” The pageant allows the girls to meet and share their experiences with other like-minded girls from all over the world, forging friendships & memories that will last a lifetime. Holding the contest in England and having a trip to Paris & Disneyland Paris is a way of thanking these young ladies for all their hard work during the year, they are all fantastic ambassadors for their countries and we are proud to say they are excellent role models for the younger generation, who they will encourage to follow in their footsteps and take up the charity mantle and carry on the good work for the future.
